Text Box: What is CASTLES?
CASTLES stands for Center for Academic, Social, Technology, Literacy and Economic Solutions.
CASTLES is a new 21st Century Community Learning Center in Goldsboro offering after school care for children ages 5-12 in the Goldsboro City attendance area. Mrs. Danielle Baptiste is director.
CASTLES community partners are Dillard Academy K-4 Charter Public School, First African Baptist Church, Wayne Action Group for Economic Solvency (WAGES), and Dynamic Images Inc. (A leading behavioral health provider).
The mission of CASTLES is to provide an after school program that offers an array of developmental, educational services and opportunities for at-risk children and their parents, in a safe, structured and supervised environment.
The program is designed to address both academic and social needs in an effort to develop the whole child. Infusing parental and family involvement in the child’s activities, as well as providing adult education and developmental programs, are key components of CASTLES.
CASTLES will build a foundation of improved physical health, self-esteem, test scores, behavior and family cohesiveness for all program participants, in a safe and loving community-based environment.
