Career Openings: We are currently looking for two highly qualified teachers and one TA to join our innovative staff.  All interested employees should send their resumes addressed to Principal Brian Smith for further consideration.  It is also time for previous candidates to reapply.  Teacher candidates should have a NC Professional II license with a K-6 and/or EC certification.  Teacher Assistant candidates should have at least an associates degree.  *Music director experience is a plus.*

2014 Summer Camp starts June 30, running Monday - Friday 8am to 1pm, until August 8, with the exception of the week of July 7, when staff will be attending our annual retreat.  Check out the awesome summer-loss- reduction activities we have planned to keep our students energized and excited about learning!

EDUCATIONAL FOCUS

Dillard Academy provides a program of academic excellence for students in Pre-K and Kindergarten through Grade 5 with special emphasis on remediation for the academically at-risk student and acceleration and enrichment opportunities for the academically gifted student.  The goal is to provide a supportive structure and an educational program of age appropriate activities that support character development and establish a strong foundation of physical, social, emotional, and intellectual capacities upon which lifelong learning can be built.  Each student is tested and Individual Academic Plans are tailored to the child’s specific needs.  Parents are strongly encouraged to participate in the educational process both at home and in the school, to be supportive of school activities, and to spend a minimum amount of time in the school each month.  Teachers and parents share responsibility for student academic progress.  The academically at-risk population will be reduced by at least 50%.  The academically gifted population will thrive on a challenging program that will accelerate them beyond grade level.
